Support to Ukrainian refugees in Moldova

In the early months of the war of Russia in Ukraine, many Ukrainians fled the country to neighbouring countries. Also Moldavia hosted many refugees. Gian Luca, a friend of us in Besozzo, has been working with Moldavia for a long time, and founded the Associazione Italia-Moldova. He told us of some acute needs of a partner NGO in Moldavia to receive the refugees, and we immediately decided to collaborate.

Partnership with Associazione Italia-Moldova (Besozzo, Italy) and Raza Increderii NGO, (Causeni, Moldavia)

The local organization managed to do a lot. All the doors and windows were changed and a second exit made. They won a project that helped them buy all the materials for the arrangement: linoleum, wallpaper, glue, terracotta, artificial grass. Now they have a team of workers renovating the entire office garden and installing artificial grass, the playground equipment that will be installed there has already been procured. From October 1st 2022, they plan to open an Afterschool Center for needy children and Ukrainian refugee children. They have funding to offer them a hot meal just when they come from school and to do manual work (candles, polymer clay) with them daily. After that they have planned the autumn camp for 150 Ukrainian and Moldovan children in difficult situations, who will make paintings on linen bags and various interactive activities and will also be fed twice a day.
