About Project Dots and Loops

Who are we?

We are a small organisation located in the foothills of the Italian Alps on Lago Maggiore. We create and support projects around the world aimed at sustainable development in the most vulnerable areas,

in particular with the goal to empower girls and women and their communities.

What do we do?

Over the years we have focused a lot of our work in the field of menstrual hygiene education and support. Along with our informative workshops we have delivered over 2000 reusable cotton menstruation kits in India, Nepal, Morocco, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Ethiopia and Mali to name a few.

We have also created several educational scholarships in Nepal and India, built a ghat (crematorium) and health clinic in Nepal, supported an orphanage in the Himalayan Mountains and more.

Who do we work with?

We harness the skills and energy from local women volunteer groups, a network of friends and family and volunteers from around the world. We make sure everyone feels proud to contribute.

We make sure our projects make a difference. We partner with local organisations from the design of the projects to the execution.

Where does our project name come from?

Dots stands for periods, often stopping girls and women from attending school, work and from participating in normal daily life for up to a week every month.

Loops stands for scribbles, the start of an education providing new chances to girls and women.

We believe all women can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world.
