Last year while in Rajasthan, India we met Dr. Deepak Sharma, an inspiring and dedicated advocate for helping local communities near Ajmer, India. Over the last 10 years Dr. Sharma's NGO, RSKS has been working towards empowering girls and women in his communities.
After a successful workshop delivering Days for Girls kits, we were inspired to collaborate with Dr.Sharma on other initiatives that would support his communities, especially during these difficult Covid times.
We created the Dots and Loops Education Fund. This fund will be used to provide needed items such as school supplies, hygiene products and uniforms to girls in small community schools over the coming years. We hope to also set up scholarships which will be awarded to outstanding students who show dedication and perseverance to further their studies.
In spite of the COVID restrictions, RSKS was able to deliver the backpacks filled with school supplies and hygiene products to over 120 girls (in a Covid safe environment).
A big Thank You to our donors, and in particular our friend and supporter Leslie, who organized a fundraising evening to raise funds at the European School in Karlsruhe for the Dots and Loops Education Fund.
